Massillon man killed in head-on crash
STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened Thursday afternoon in Stark County. According to a news release from patrol, troopers responded at about 12:15 p.m. to state Route 93 in Lawrence Township. A GMC Sierra truck was headed north on state Route 93 when it went left-of-center and hit a Chevy Silverado head-on, according to the patrol. The driver of the GMC had to be pulled out of the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. He did not survive. Shawn Simon, 41, of Massillon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
