Man severely injured after train hits his vehicle; alcohol suspected
DENVER (KDVR) — A man is in the hospital with severe injuries after a train hit his vehicle in Brighton early Sunday morning, police said. The crash happened at about 4:30 a.m. on the track near North 4th Avenue and East Longs Peak Street, the Brighton Police Department said. Investigators suspect alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. The 29-year-old man's vehicle was stopped on the tracks between Longs Peak Street and Bridge Street when officers responded to the crash. The man was found near his vehicle with severe injuries.
