Man killed in uncommon San Jose accident, driver taken into custody
A woman was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run in a tragic traffic accident, as reported by the San Jose Police Department. The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 13, when officers responded to a possible hit-and-run on McCoy Avenue. They found a man with severe injuries who later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators discovered that the man had been a passenger in a black 2018 Chevrolet Volt driven by the woman, who left the scene before the arrival of authorities. The suspect was apprehended by detectives on Monday in Sunnyvale and taken into custody for the hit-and-run offense. This incident is the 37th traffic fatality and 19th pedestrian death in San Jose in the year 2025. The victim's identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
