Man killed in Rowan County electric bicycle accident, coroner says

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Kentucky man died on Tuesday evening from a bicycle accident in Rowan County, according to the coroner's office. The Rowan County Coroner's Office posted on Facebook that around 7:40 p.m. on June 16, Morehead emergency dispatchers were called and told that someone had found a bicycle accident near the 3100 block of McBrayer Road in the Clearfield community. Emergency personnel responded, and the coroner was also requested to the scene, authorities said. At 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Coroner John Northcutt reportedly pronounced a 64-year-old Clearfield man dead. His name has yet to be released. "The operator had apparently lost control of the electric bicycle he was operating, resulting in his ejection from the bicycle," the coroner's office wrote. "The incident is currently under investigation by Rowan County Sheriff’s Department Detective Robbie Duncan and Coroner Northcutt."
