Man killed in crash near Fresno bus stop
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man in his 70s died following a crash near a bus stop in Fresno on Tuesday. According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash took place just before 1 p.m. near the bus stop at Ashlan Avenue and First Street. Officers report a man stepped into oncoming traffic near the bus stop when he was hit by an SUV. First responders rendered aid, but the man was ultimately pronounced dead on scene. Police say the victim is believed to be in his early 70s. He has not been officially identified. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
