Man hospitalized after crash on North Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A man has been hospitalized after a crash involving a pedestrian on North Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach Sunday afternoon, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department. As of around 1:30 p.m. on May 24, the department is at the scene of the crash in the 100 block of North Birdneck Road. When officers arrived to the scene, they found the man, who was then transported by first responders to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Due to the crash, North Birdneck Road will be closed down, and traffic is being rerouted. Police say to expect delays and back ups. When the lanes will reopen is currently unknown.
