Man gets 15 years in fiery fatal crash on 1-10
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A man pleaded guilty last month to intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a fatal crash along Interstate 10 back in 2024. Alberto Anahotzin Gonzalez, 36 at the time of the incident, was accused of causing a fiery rear-end crash that killed 93-year-old Jesus Román Villezcas Carrazco. Gonzalez received a 224-day credit for time already served, according to court records. The crash happened at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2024, on I-10 near Redd Road. As KTSM previously reported, four people from Chihuahua were in a vehicle that was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Gonzalez. Both cars hit the concrete barrier and burst into flames. Villezcas Carrazco was unable to escape the fire and died at the scene.
