Man from Fort Edward dies in snowmobile crash in Lewis County

A 56-year-old man from Fort Edward tragically lost his life in Lewis County after his snowmobile was hit by a truck on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Marmon Road, where the man, identified as Joseph Harrington, was riding his snowmobile. The Lewis County Sheriff's Department reported that Harrington did not stop at a stop sign before entering the road and was struck by the pickup truck. An investigation is currently underway. The sheriff's office received assistance from various emergency response teams including Boonville Ambulance, Port Leyden Ambulance, Lewis County Search and Rescue, Port Leyden Fire Department, Lyons Falls Fire Department, and Unlimited Collision.
