Man flown to a hospital after single vehicle crash in Knox County
KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One man was flown to a hospital after crashing into a yard in Knox County. According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a car accident on North Brocksmith Road on Friday evening. Upon arrival, they found a car had wrecked into a yard and a man was lying on his side in the grass. The man was identified as 31-year-old Brandon Garza. Deputies state that Garza had blood coming from his ankle and road rash on his back and chest. A passerby, who said they witnessed the crash, stated that Garza was thrown from the vehicle and he did not have any passengers. Garza remained unconscious at the scene and was flown by helicopter to Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Deputies state that they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Garza's breath and a state blood draw kit was obtained for evidence.
