Man dies Sunday night in US Route 1 crash, police say
A Cecil County man died Sunday night in a crash on U.S. Route 1, police said.Chablaoui Khalid, 42, of Rising Sun, died in a crash around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. Route 1 at Mount Street in Rising Sun, Maryland State Police said.State troopers said Khalid was making a left turn when another car ran a red light and struck him.Khalid died at the scene and the other driver was taken to a hospital.State police said investigators believe impairment may have been a contributing circumstance in this crash and that charges are pending.
