Man dies after motorcycle crash in Tuscarawas County

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash Saturday that left a New Philadelphia man dead. According to a Sunday news release, 63-year-old Jack Lineberry was riding a motorcycle southbound on SR800 near Froman Hill Road in Fairfield Township just after 5 p.m. Lineberry reportedly swerved left of center to avoid a vehicle that had slowed down to turn right onto Froman Hill Road. "The motorcycle and the rider slid off the east side of SR800 striking a guardrail," the release said. Lineberry was flown to a hospital where he ultimately died from his injuries. Alcohol and drugs are factors in the crash, troopers said, and Lineberry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
