Man dies after hitting parked trailer on Don Haskins
Just past midnight on Saturday, June 13, the El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigation (STI) Unit found a serious collision that left one man dead. The STI Unit responded to the 1300 block of Don Haskins for a vehicle collision. A preliminary investigation found a 2007 Nissan Xterra was traveling east on Don Haskins when it struck the rear of a parked Kenworth truck and box trailer that were parked facing east. Ricardo Martinez suffered serious injuries and later died from said injuries sustained in the collision. Investigators said speed was a contributing factor. This is an ongoing investigation. Martinez's death marks the 21st traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 28 at this time last year.
