Man charged with murder in Mesa crash that resulted in woman's death
A man has recently been taken into custody in connection with a fatal incident that occurred several months ago in the East Valley. Not long before 7:30 a.m. on August 30, a collision took place near Val Vista Drive and Broadway Road, resulting in the tragic death of a woman while leaving the driver, identified as 22-year-old Isaiah Torres, with severe injuries. The accident involved an SUV crashing into a brick wall, causing damage to nearby homes but fortunately, no residents were harmed. After a DUI investigation, Mesa Police determined there was enough evidence to charge Torres with second-degree murder and criminal damage. Torres was apprehended on December 16.
