Man charged with DUI after head-on crash at Downtown Tunnel in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- A man was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after a two-vehicle crash on I-264 eastbound at the Downtown Tunnel in Portsmouth Sunday morning, according to Virginia State Police. The head-on crash happened at the tunnel at around 2:58 a.m. on July 12. One of the vehicles' drivers, Zachary M. Jones, 21, of Norfolk, was charged with DUI. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The other vehicle's driver, Kinyada D. Carroll, 41, of Norfolk, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This crash is still under investigation.
