Man arrested after wrong-way crash in Muskegon
MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A Whitehall man was arrested after a wrong-way crash on a Muskegon highway Monday afternoon, police say. The crash happened around 2 p.m. on southbound US-31 north of Apple Avenue, Michigan State Police say. The driver who troopers say caused the crash, a 36-year-old Whitehall man, was driving the wrong way on the highway. In a video one viewer shared with News 8, the at-fault vehicle can be seen crashing head-on into a southbound vehicle before the two spin out. The other vehicle involved was driven by a 77-year-old Muskegon man. "I thought he was more in the median, I mean people were dodging him left and right, right before that and I thought he was a little more in the middle and I was just kind of in shock for a second when it full on hit the other car. I'm glad they're OK," said Adam Deuling, who shot the video shared with News 8. No one was hurt in the crash, police say. Southbound US-31 was closed for about 30 minutes while MSP investigated. The driver was suspected to be drunk, police say, and was arrested.
