Maine man among 3 seriously injured in New Hampshire head-on crash

Members of the New Hampshire State Police are investigating a head-on crash on Interstate 293 in Hooksett that left three people seriously injured, including a Maine man.State police said troopers responded to the crash on I-293 north, which happened in the area of mile marker 11, at about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday.Investigators determined that a 43-year-old man from Rome, Maine, was driving a 2020 Subaru Legacy south on the interstate when, for reasons still under investigation, the car crossed the center median and into the northbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.The Maine man, a passenger in the Subaru and the driver of the F-150 were all transported to area hospitals to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.Investigators said speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, but all aspects of the incident remain under investigation. State police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that may help investigators to email Trooper Isaiah Acquaye at [email protected] said the northbound lanes of I-293, as well as the left lane on the southbound side, were closed for about an hour while state troopers and emergency personnel investigated the crash.
