Madison County man dies in farm accident involving skid loader
MADISON COUNTY, Iowa -- Authorities say a Madison County man was killed Thursday during an accident involving a skid loader. The Madison County Sheriff's Office says around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, its office received a report of a person injured by a skid loader in the 3000 block of Heritage Avenue, located 12 miles southwest of Winterset. The sheriff's office says deputies and first responder teams arrived on scene, where they located a man who had become trapped by his skid loader while working on his farm. Authorities say he had been unable to free himself and was discovered by his family. The MCSO says 69-year-old Ronald Bane, of Lorimor, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Winterset Fire Department, Madison County Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol and the Madison County Medical Examiner’s Office.
