Lindenhurst Man Killed In Car Accident Honored In Fundraiser: ‘One Of A Kind'

An online fundraiser has been launched for a Long Island man who was killed in a car accident. William “Billy” Scott, 38, died May 31, according to an obituary. His friends and family remembered him as “one of a kind.” “He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation and never ask for anything in return,” organizer Louise Caracciolo wrote in the GoFundMe. “His outgoing personality, sense of humor, and genuine kindness made him impossible to forget.” Scott, of Lindenhurst, died when he was struck by a vehicle, according to the fundraiser. He has not been publicly named by authorities in connection with any car accidents on Long Island. “Whether you needed a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply someone to make you smile, Billy was always there,” Caracciolo wrote. “He lived his life putting others before himself and made a lasting impact on countless friends, family members, and members of the community.” The GoFundMe had raised more than $13,000 toward a $20,000 goal as of Thursday afternoon, July 2. “Billy leaves behind so many people who loved him and who will miss him dearly,” Caracciolo wrote. “His kindness, generosity, and spirit will never be forgotten.” To view the GoFundMe, click here.
