Lexington man identified in fatal moped accident
Officials have identified a man who died in a moped accident in Lexington on May 21. Michael Bailey Vines, 69, of Lexington, was traveling westbound at 9:45 a.m. in the 2400 Block of South Lake Dr. when he left the right side of the roadway and was ejected from the moped. Officials say Vines, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
