Las Vegas motorcyclist killed in high-speed crash near Jones, Tropical

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Las Vegas crash Saturday night. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle on North Jones Boulevard and Crystal Spur Avenue, near Tropical Parkway, at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday. The motorcyclist was initially taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff. Police said evidence at the scene showed the 22-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south on Jones approaching Crystal Spur "at a high rate of speed." The motorcyclist entered the shoulder to pass traffic as a 2024 Audi was traveling north on Jones approaching Crystal Spur in the turn lane. The collision happened when the Audi made the left turn, crossing the motorcyclist's path and the front of the motorcycle hit the right side of the Audi, ejecting the rider onto the road. The driver and passenger of the Audi remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The passenger sustained claimed injuries and was treated at the scene. The motorcyclist's death marks the 15th traffic-related death in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2026. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after next of kin notification.
