Las Vegas father comes forward after Spy Ninjas accident

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Following 8 News Now's release of a shocking video of a 10-year-old plummeting to the ground while riding an indoor zip line at Spy Ninjas HQ, another man has now come forward claiming he was also hurt at the same park in October. Father Frank Steele said he was celebrating his son’s 10th birthday on October 18th with his family. Steele told 8 News Now he was on a trampoline by himself, jumping, when he got injured. Steele claims a support beam nicked him. “I just felt the blood rushing down my head,” said Steele. “It felt like a spoon carved my head open.” Steele said his family took part in multiple of the attractions. The indoor park offers more than zip lining. Their website advertises obstacle courses, axe-throwing, and more. “I go jump on the trampoline for less than five minutes, and I come up,” he recalls. “As I come up, something cut my head open.” He said his family stepped in to help, and an ambulance rushed him to the hospital. Pictures show him in the ER still wearing the Spy Ninjas’ wristband. As for the park, Steele claims they took themselves "out of the equation." “They just gave me a card saying ‘please contact me’ afterwards,” Steele said. “It kind of felt like they were just kind of washing me away with the ambulance.” According to Steele, months later, the injury is still impacting his life. “It's a pretty noticeable mark,” he said while pointing out his scar. “Due to pressure, because I do go to the gym, it does feel different now, you know, because all the blood's rushing to your head now.” Steele hopes that no other family will have to go through what he did, or Knox, the 10-year-old who fell more than 20 feet from a zip line in February. “You have children watching other people's children in there,” Steele said. “I don't see these kids really caring about the establishment the way they should be.” After Knox’s fall, a spokesperson for Spy Ninjas told 8 News Now the zip line was temporarily closed for inspection, and the staff was going through "intensive" safety training. 8 News Now reached out to Spy Ninjas for comment on Steele's case. For that, we are still awaiting a response.
