Lanes reopened after 6-car crash on NB Edens Expressway; pedestrian also struck, police report
A multiple vehicle collision in the suburbs north of Cook County resulted in the closure of several lanes on the northbound Edens Expressway near Dempster Street early Sunday morning due to a pedestrian being struck. The Illinois State Police reported that all lanes had reopened just before 11:30 a.m. after responding to the crash scene at around 4:45 a.m. The pedestrian and multiple passengers involved were transported to nearby hospitals for injuries; however, no details on their conditions were provided. The accident is currently being investigated by authorities.
