Lake Placid employee airlifted after linework accident
LAKE PLACID | The community was rallying Saturday with thoughts and prayers for a Village of Lake Placid electric employee who was airlifted after a line-repair accident Friday. Mayor Art Devlin said the accident happened while Electric Department employees were trying to repair a faulty underground line. The employee was airlifted to a major burn unit. Their condition was not available Saturday. Village officials said provisions have been made to ensure the day-to-day operations of the electric department and for permanent repairs to the underground line. "At this point, the village is focusing its energy on support of the people involved. Your thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated," village officials said as well-wishes poured in for the man and his loved ones. No further details were immediately available Saturday.
