Kentucky State Police investigating after crash in Lawrence County kills one, injures one
A person has died and another was injured following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning in Lawrence County, Ky., troopers said. The crash occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 23 in Lowmansville, according to a press release from Kentucky State Police. Investigators said an SUV was traveling southbound when it crossed the median and into oncoming traffic, colliding with a tractor-trailer. A passenger in the vehicle, identified by troopers as 20-year-old Kaitlyn Delong, of Lovely was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. According to troopers, the driver of the SUV was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in critical condition, while the driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation, according to the release.
