Kansas man dies in crash between lawnmower and UTV
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A man is dead following a crash between his riding lawnmower and a UTV. The Kansas Highway Patrol said it happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday in rural Washington County, about six miles west of Linn. Troopers said Benjamin Goeckel, 50, was stopped on a riding lawnmower on East Indian Road between 8th and 9th roads, facing north, when he suddenly turned into the path of a Polaris Ranger UTV. The two vehicles collided on the road. Goeckel was taken to Clay County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. A 37‑year‑old man and a 9‑year‑old boy on the UTV suffered minor injuries.
