Kansas Highway Patrol identifies woman killed in Interstate 35 crash in Olathe
The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon along Interstate 35.Rhiannon Rodriguez, 43 of Leavenworth, was identified as the victim of the crash. The wreck happened just after noon on southbound I-35, near mile marker 213 and north of 167th Street in Olathe. The KHP report says Rodriguez was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester southbound when the SUV veered off the highway, went down into a ditch and struck a tree and a concrete embankment.The vehicle caught fire after the crash. A second person attempting to rescue Rodriguez suffered minor injuries.The crash backed up traffic for hours Tuesday afternoon as drivers were forced off the interstate near Lone Elm Road.
