Jury finds man guilty in 2023 fatal crash in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man has been found guilty in connection with a fatal crash in west Wichita in November 2023. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office said a jury convicted Dalton Huffman on Thursday of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a deadly crash. He also pleaded no contest to driving with a suspended license and circumvention of an ignition interlock device in the death of Anastasia Carter, 24, of Wichita. According to Wichita Police, Carter was driving north on Ridge Road, near Central Avenue, when Huffman reportedly turned in front of her. Carter was temporarily trapped in her car before being taken to a local hospital in critical condition. She later died of her injuries. Huffman's sentencing is scheduled for June 26.
