"I wake up every morning knowing that my choices and decisions caused two individuals to lose their lives, and that truth will stay with me longer than any sentence."The Horne family also spoke in Tuesday's sentencing hearing."We know no sentence can bring Jay and Nicole back," said Jay's brother Kevin Horne. "I get that, but accountability matters. It's a necessary part of justice, healing and honoring the lives that were taken from us.""This is really confusing for me as a human," said Cassie Horne, niece of the couple. "I want the worst for you, but I don't want your family to feel the worst of your choices."Ultimately, Judge Sandy Williams sentenced Vue to more than what prosecutors requested."The consequences in this case are horrifying," she said. "You drove at extremely high speeds. You're going the wrong way on an expressway for a significant distance. You created the deadly situation."Top HeadlinesMilwaukee middle school student says school janitor body slammed himMilwaukee courthouse security officer killed in shooting; man, woman arrestedLincoln Park neighborhood residents voice frustration over year-old pothole on 22nd StreetWATCH Search continues for Timmothy Pitzen, 15 years after disappearance
