Joshua released from hospital after severe car crash
Boxer and former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from the hospital following a severe car crash in Nigeria that resulted in the loss of two friends who were in the vehicle with him. The accident occurred when the Lexus Jeep he was riding in as a passenger experienced a tire blowout and collided with a stationary lorry on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway. After receiving treatment for minor injuries, Joshua paid a visit to the mortuary where his friends' bodies were being prepared for repatriation. The individuals who tragically lost their lives, Ghami and Ayodele, were close friends and long-time associates of Joshua, with Ghami serving as his sports and physical rehabilitation coach and Ayodele as his personal trainer. Both were 36 years old. While Joshua was in Nigeria for vacation, he had upcoming fights scheduled in Saudi Arabia, including a potentially exciting matchup with Tyson Fury. Additionally, Joshua recently participated in an exhibition fight, knocking out YouTuber Jake Paul. Local authorities in Nigeria are currently searching for the driver of the parked truck involved in the accident, as they fled the scene following the collision.
