Jeff Knight charged in April Clearwater ferry crash: FWC
Jeff Knight, the former owner of businesses in downtown St. Petersburg including Jannus Live, has been charged with eight felony counts related to a boating accident in which one person died and 10 others were injured. He stepped down from his position at Jannus Live after the incident. Knight's boat crashed into a Clearwater ferry in April, and he left the scene. The family of one of the victims, Jose Castro, commented that the charges are a step towards accountability and justice. Knight has a past incident involving a boat crash in 2019. He is currently in custody at Pinellas County Jail.
