Irvine woman, 25, killed in 7-Eleven parking lot crash between 2 work trucks
A 25-year-old woman in Laguna Beach was tragically killed in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven when two work trucks servicing the convenience store crashed. The March 3 incident occurred just after 10 a.m. in the store’s parking lot at 31702 Coast Highway, near 3rd Avenue. Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly how the crash happened, but according to the Orange County Register, the trucks, one belonging to a company called CR&R and another with Belshire Environmental Services, collided. Police said the pedestrian victim, now identified as Savannah Van Houtte, a resident of Irvine, was somehow struck in the collision, leaving her with critical injuries. She was rushed to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo where she succumbed to her injuries. No additional details, including whether either of the drivers face charges in the fatal crash, were released.
