iPhones alert authorities of car crash in Wisconsin
In Lomira, Wisconsin, authorities credit an iPhone safety function for swiftly alerting paramedics to a crash on Friday morning. The Lomira Fire Department reported receiving a call before 9:30 a.m. regarding a crash with injuries at Grande DC on Industrial Drive, triggered automatically by the iPhone of a person involved in the incident. The department highlighted the importance of activating this feature in emergencies when one may be unable to call for help. Due to wet and snowy conditions, a UTV transport was utilized as the vehicle involved was located far from the road. The number of injuries was not disclosed by officials.
