Iowa motorcyclist killed in collision with farm sprayer
SHELBY COUNTY, Iowa -- Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed during a collision with a farm sprayer in western Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday along the 200 block of County Road M-16, located directly north of Shelby. ISP officials say a 2008 Kawasaki Motorcycle was northbound when it came up behind a 2010 Apache 715 Sprayer also heading north. Authorities say the sprayer began to turn left into a driveway when the motorcycle struck the sprayer mid-turn from the rear. The motorcycle came to rest in the west ditch of the road, while the sprayer came to a stop in the driveway. The motorcyclist, identified as 19-year-old Jacob Buman of Harlan, died at the scene and was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office, according to officials. The operator of the sprayer, a 37-year-old man from Shelby, was not injured.
