Investigation underway into fatal accident in rural Mackinaw
A tragic incident occurred in rural Mackinaw on Christmas Eve morning as one person lost their life in a single-vehicle crash. The deceased, a 62-year-old resident of Mackinaw, was identified by Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley. The authorities responded to the crash scene on Illinois Route 9 early Wednesday, where the victim was pronounced dead. The individual's identity is being withheld until their family has been informed, and an autopsy is planned for Friday. The coroner's office and the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office are jointly investigating the incident.
