Investigation underway after Olive Hill man killed in late-night crash

OLIVE HILL, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man is dead after a late-night crash in eastern Kentucky, and an ongoing investigation by state and local authorities is underway. According to a news release, the crash happened around 9:09 p.m. Friday near the intersection of KY-519 and KY-801. Dispatchers with the Morehead Police Department received reports of a single-vehicle crash, prompting a response from multiple agencies, including the Rowan County Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky State Police. At the scene, authorities found the driver, identified as Donavan Kyle Porter, 30, of Olive Hill. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rowan County Coroner's Office. Officials said Porter’s body has been sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
