Investigation ongoing for deadly I-19 rollover near Green Valley
One person has passed away after a solo rollover incident on Interstate 19 near Green Valley early Friday morning. The collision occurred at approximately 4:05 a.m. on January 16, close to mile marker 69 by Duval Road. Authorities report that a burgundy Ford car traveling northward in the left lane veered off into the center divider and then swerved to the right, smashing through fencing and eventually coming to a stop on the frontage road. The driver, the sole individual in the vehicle, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries during the rollover. Emergency responders from the Santa Rita Fire District arrived at the scene near Camino De Diana and northbound I-19 around 6:23 a.m., where they found the driver deceased. Following the examination of the site, the Arizona Department of Public Safety has cleared the road, concluding their investigation, with the cause of the crash still being looked into.
