Investigation of deadly crash in Chaves County by New Mexico State Police
In Chaves County, New Mexico, State Police are currently looking into a tragic collision that took place between two vehicles. The incident occurred at approximately 12:10 a.m. on a Thursday, involving a Chevy driven by 69-year-old Charles Johnson, traveling eastbound on US 380 close to mile marker 196. The Chevy crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a Kia. Sadly, Johnson and a passenger in the Kia, 40-year-old Heather Morris, lost their lives. The Kia's driver and two other passengers were injured and transported to the hospital, but their current conditions remain unspecified.
