Investigation initiated into crash at Carolina West building in Wilkes County
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is currently looking into a collision between a vehicle and a building in Wilkes County. The incident occurred at the North Carolina West building off Highway 16 on Saturday at approximately 5:30 p.m. It was reported that an 87-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Kia when her foot became stuck on the accelerator, causing her to crash into the establishment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as there was no one inside the building at the time of the incident. To ensure safety, authorities temporarily boarded up the building, though it is uncertain if there was any structural damage. As of now, no charges have been pressed.
