Intense accident involving multiple vehicles on I-264 W in Virginia Beach
In Virginia Beach, all lanes heading west on I-264 near Independence Blvd. were closed on Friday afternoon due to a multi-vehicle collision. The incident occurred at 3 p.m. Designated as a 'high priority incident' by VDOT, the crash involved five vehicles, with two of them catching fire. Virginia State Police verified the details of the crash and a significant emergency response was witnessed via live traffic cameras. Pictures and a video from a viewer stuck in the traffic were also received. By 4 p.m., traffic congestion stretched approximately four miles. However, all lanes and the west entrance ramp have since reopened. No information on injuries has been provided yet.
