Injury to driver, passenger in semi-truck accident on I-75, as per state police

A semi-truck accident occurred on Interstate 75 in Metro Detroit late Sunday night, resulting in two injuries according to Michigan State Police. The crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. on southbound I-75, close to Outer Drive / Exit 42 in Lincoln Park. The driver, aged 32, had four passengers in the vehicle, including an adult front seat passenger and three children. While all occupants were taken to the hospital, the children were unharmed. The driver and adult passenger were treated for minor injuries. Authorities stated that the driver was speeding for the road conditions, leading to loss of control, hitting the median wall, and scattering debris across both sides of the highway. The freeway was shut down for investigation and cleanup, with northbound traffic resuming at 11:09 p.m. and all lanes clear by 1:19 a.m. Michigan State Police F/Lt. Mike Shaw emphasized the importance of driving at safe speeds to prevent accidents on wet roads.
