Information revealed about driver in deadly Harrison Blvd accident
New information has been disclosed about the driver involved in the tragic accident on Harrison Blvd that resulted in the death of 8-year-old Mora Gerety from Boise. Elvin Elgardo Ramos-Caballero was driving a pickup truck on W. Ada Street when he turned onto Harrison Boulevard and struck Mora Gerety. Following the incident, he was taken into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). According to recent details from the Department of Homeland Security, Ramos-Caballero, originally from Honduras, came to the U.S. in September 2015. DHS reports that he failed to appear for an immigration hearing after entering the country and was subsequently ordered to be removed "in absentia" on May 9, 2016. DHS also states that Ramos-Caballero faced a "hit and run" charge in connection to the Harrison Boulevard incident, although Boise Police has not yet pressed any charges. Idaho News 6 located Ramos-Caballero in the El Paso Camp East Montana in Texas through the ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
