INDOT closes road due to Madison County fatal accident
A 93-year-old man from Anderson passed away in a tragic accident that shut down a section of Indiana State Road 9. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, involved the elderly man trying to navigate across multiple lanes of traffic. The man, driving a Lincoln Towncar, was hit by a northbound Jeep Wrangler. The Lincoln driver was declared deceased at the scene, while the Jeep driver was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Following the crash, SR 9 North was reopened roughly two and a half hours later.
