INDOT: Accident leads to closure of I-465 on south side of Indianapolis
UPDATE (11/6/25): A recent update from the Indiana Department of Transportation reveals that all lanes on I-465 have been reopened as of 2:19 p.m. today following an incident on Thursday afternoon. ---------------------------------------------------- Original Report: INDIANAPOLIS -- There is currently a closure on a section of I-465 in south Indianapolis due to a crash involving a pedestrian. The Indiana Department of Transportation responded to the incident, which took place around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday close to the 52nd mile-marker on I-465 westbound in Marion County, near the junction of I-465 and I-65. In response to the crash, multiple left lanes were shut down along with the right two lanes. However, the center lane remains accessible at this time. As of 1:36 p.m., INDOT has stated that the left lanes have now reopened, though the right lanes are still closed. There is no specified duration for the closure at present, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
