Indiana GOP politician discharged after car accident

A picture shared on social media platform X by Baird's office showed the congressman wearing a neck brace and displaying a bruise under his left eye. While Baird is out of the hospital, his wife Danise remains hospitalized and is receiving excellent care. The Baird family expressed their appreciation for the support and well-wishes received, thanking everyone for their prayers. The couple's son, Indiana state Rep. Beau Baird, shared on Facebook that his parents were hit while driving back to Washington, D.C., on Monday night. He assured that both were in stable condition and good spirits. Beau also clarified that there was no indication of the accident being politically motivated and that law enforcement is actively investigating the hit-and-run incident. Representative Jim Baird, aged 80, has been serving Indiana's 4th Congressional District since 2019 and has a background in the Indiana House. Known for his dedication to his constituents and service on various House committees, he is grateful for the support received during this challenging time.
