Indian truck driver arrested by ICE after causing deadly crash in West Virginia's Cheat Lake
An Indian truck driver, Sukhjinder Singh, who admitted to causing a fatal accident in West Virginia, has been detained by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as reported by various news outlets. Singh was taken into custody by ICE on November 24 at 1:30 pm local time, but the exact circumstances of his arrest have not been disclosed. He is currently being held without bail. Singh was previously arrested in March this year for his involvement in a crash that resulted in a fatality on January 19 on the I-68 highway, where a man named Kevin Lataille lost his life. After fleeing the state, Singh was arrested in California and later pleaded guilty to negligent homicide. He was sentenced to a year in prison and fined $1,000 in October. The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is working on securing further legal action against Singh to ensure justice is served.
