IDENTIFIED: Motorcyclist killed after crash with Lexus in Fresno County
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The motorcyclist who died after crashing with a car in Fresno County near Minkler on Thursday has been identified by officials. California Highway Patrol identified the man as Francisco Fonseca Roza, 47, of Reedley. The crash happened around 6 a.m. near Reed Avenue and Highway 180. Officers say a Lexus was traveling southbound on Reed Avenue north of Annadale Avenue. At the same time, Roza was traveling northbound. Officers say the Lexus approached slower traffic and attempted to pass the vehicle ahead, and that's when they hit Roza head-on. Due to the impact of the crash, CHP said Roza was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was not injured as a result of the crash. This is an ongoing investigation.
