IDENTIFIED: Man dead after two-vehicle crash in Fresno County
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The man who died after a two-vehicle crash in Fresno County Thursday morning has been named by officials. The man has been identified as 28-year-old Alex Lopez of Kingsburg. At around 7:30 a.m., officers received a call about a crash on Academy Avenue north of Dinuba Avenue. It was determined that Lopez, who, according to CHP, was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on Academy when the vehicle went into the dirt shoulder. CHP said that Lopez overcorrected to the left, which then caused the car to go across the roadway and into the path of a GMC Denali that was traveling southbound. The right front of the GMC struck Lopez's car. Lopez was found unresponsive and sustained major injuries. Emergency personnel performed CPR at the scene before transporting him to Adventist Health in Selma. Lopez died due to his injuries. This is an ongoing investigation.
