IDENTIFIED: Driver killed in Gettysburg Ave crash named
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County Coroner has identified the driver who died Monday morning after a rear-end crash in Fresno. The coroner identified the driver as Daniel Martinez, 63, of Fresno Fresno Police reported that just after 11:40 a.m., they responded to a collision near the intersection of Maple and Gettysburg avenues. Officers say the driver in the black sedan was heading eastbound on Gettysburg Avenue when they were rear-ended by a white truck traveling behind them. Police said the driver of the black sedan died from their injuries at the scene, along with their dog; the truck driver was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the collision.
