Identification of parents and battalion chief killed in El Dorado County accident
Authorities have identified the two parents who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in El Dorado County. The California Highway Patrol reported that the parents, 42-year-old Ryan Paul Rizzuto and 41-year-old Danielle Marie Rizzuto from Reno, were killed when their car collided with a tree on Highway 50 near Kyburz. The crash, which occurred at 3:11 p.m. on Sunday, also left their 8-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter with serious injuries. It took rescuers several hours to extract the children from the vehicle. Ryan Rizzuto, a battalion chief with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, was mourned by his colleagues following the tragic incident. The fire district offered support to its members and asked for community prayers for the Rizzuto family. The condition of the children is currently unknown, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
