Identification of driver who died in Marksheffel Road crash
A fatal crash on Marksheffel Road in Colorado Springs has resulted in lane closures as authorities investigate the incident. The deceased driver, identified as 22-year-old Esteban Solorio by the El Paso County Coroner's Office, was found outside the vehicle following a rollover accident. Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle off the road near Marksheffel and Drennan Roads. The initial investigation by CSPD's Major Crash Team suggests that the vehicle was traveling south on Marksheffel before drifting off the road, causing it to roll over, resulting in the driver's ejection. Factors such as speed and possible impairment are being considered in the investigation. This tragic incident marks the second traffic fatality in 2026 for the area, with no fatalities reported at the same time last year.
